Description: Independent, comprehensive, coed. Part of Long Island University. Awards bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees and postmaster's certificates. Founded 1954. Setting: 308-acre suburban campus with easy access to New York City. System endowment: $40 million. Research spending 2002-03: $1.3 million. Educational spending 2002-03: $2869 per student.
