Richard Drukker Memorial Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To promote journalism careers and newspaper readership among New Jersey residents. Focus: Journalism. Qualif.: Applicants must be journalism minors and staff members of the Montclarion. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on academic standing and financial need.

Funds Avail.: $2,000. To Apply: Applicants must complete the application form and submit an academic transcript for all college work completed; three samples of journalistic writing that has appeared in any newspaper or was done for class assignments; a statement of interest in a newspaper career, written as an autobiographical sketch describing their journalistic skills and achievements (not more than 500 words); and a statement of financial or family circumstances. Deadline: February 28.

Bernard Kilgore Memorial Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To promote journalism career and newspaper readership among New Jersey residents. Focus: Journalism. Qualif.: Applicants must be graduating high school seniors. Applicants must be planning to study journalism in college and to pursue a journalism career; must have at least a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale and have participated in high school journalism for at least two years. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on academic record and financial need.

Funds Avail.: $5,000. To Apply: Applicants must submit an official entry form; a self-analytical evaluation of the journalistic life using a creative form; and one action photo of themselves in a journalistic role; and an official copy of their transcript. Applicants should secure three to four letters of recommendation from advisers, teachers familiar with their leadership and journalistic abilities, or practitioners with whom they have worked. Deadline: February 15.

Isaac Roth Newspaper Carrier Scholarships Program (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To promote journalism careers and newspaper readership among New Jersey residents. Focus: Journalism. Qualif.: Applicants must be adult carriers who are currently enrolled as full-time college students and plan to continue as full-time students. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on financial need and academic standing.

Funds Avail.: $2,000. To Apply: Applicants must complete the application form. Applicants must submit an essay of 150 words; a copy of thier transcript; and up to five letters

of recommendation from the carrier's route customers. Deadline: April 30.
