Walter J. Jensen Fellowships (Professional Development/Fellowship)
Purpose: To help educators and researchers improve education in standard French language, literature and culture as well as in the study of standard French in the United States. Focus: French studies. Qualif.: Candidates must be U.S. citizens under the age of 40 who can demonstrate their career does or will involve active use of the French language; must have earned a bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year institution with 3.0 minimum GPA in French language and literature as a major; and must demonstrate superior competence in French according to the standards established by the American Association of Teachers of French. Criteria: Preference may be given to members of Phi Beta Kappa and educators at the secondary school level or higher.

Mary Isabel Sibley Fellowships (Doctorate/Fellowship)
Purpose: To increase interest in the study of Greek language, history, literature or archaeology, or the study of French language or literature. Focus: French studies, Greek studies. Qualif.: Candidates must be unmarried women 25 to 35 years of age who have demonstrated their ability to carry on with an original research; must hold a
doctoral degree or have fulfilled all the requirements for a doctorate except for the dissertation; must be planning to full-time work to research during the fellowship year; and must be Phi Beta Kappa members or U.S citizens. Criteria: Selection of the applicants will be based on the criteria of the Fellowship Committee.
