Description:

State-supported, university, coed. Part of University of Arkansas System. Awards bachelor's, master's, doctoral, and first professional degrees. Founded 1871. Setting: 357-acre suburban campus. Collegiate Environment:

Campus security: 24-hour emergency response devices and patrols, student patrols, late night transport-escort service, controlled dormitory access, RAD (Rape Aggression Defense program). College housing designed to accommodate 3,704 students; 3,741 undergraduates lived in college housing during 2003-04. Freshmen guaranteed college housing. On-campus residence required in freshman year. Options: coed, men-only, women-only housing available. David W. Mullins Library plus 4 others with 1.7 million books, 4.6 million microform titles, 22,485 serials, 25,291 audiovisual materials, an OPAC, and a Web page.
